Carleton and its predecessor ridings have been held by the Conservative/Progressive Conservative parties since 1871, aside from between 1919 and 1921 when the United Farmers of Ontario held the seat for one term.
Goldie Ghamari won the seat in 2018 with 51.33% of the vote.
